Pres. Erap leads Presidentiables at 2nd ANC leadership forum

MANILA, Philippines Six possible Presidential candidates in 2010 faced off recently for the second leg of Countdown to 2010: An ANC Leadership Forum at the University of the Philippines School of Economics (UPSE) in Diliman.

The events high-profile lineup included former President Joseph Estrada, Sen. Loren Legarda and Makati Mayor Jejomar Binay. Sen. Manuel Villar declined the invitation since he said he will be out of the country next week. On his part, Sen. Panfilo Lacson decided not to appear on the show as he withdrew his candidacy for 2010 elections.

The second batch was unable to attend the first leadership forum that ANC and the Ateneo de Manila University sponsored last month. Senators Francis Escudero, Richard Gordon and Manuel Roxas II, Gov. Ed Panlilio and Secretary Gilberto Teodoro Jr. took the hot seat where they answered a barrage of questions.

ANCs anchors Cheche Lazaro and Ricky Carandang anchored the second forum.

The second ANC Leadership Forum was a partnership between ANC and the UPSE and part of ABS-CBNs Boto Mo, iPatrol Mo: Ako ang Simula campaign, which empowers Filipinos, particularly the youth, to make a difference in the national polls next year.

Through the forums, we hope to help the Filipino youth see who these potential candidates are and what they stand for, said ANC COO Glenda Gloria.

   In Erap’s case, his inheritance or his family’s riches is not actually the “properties” in question, but the “accumulation” of his properties beginning his rise to malacanang.
   Government officials don’t get paid too well I assume, not enough to purchase and own more than five properties worth millions in just a years’ time…
