Stopping an Identity thief

One of the main targets of an identity thief is a victim’s mailbox. One of these items in the right–or the wrong–hands can offer them the means to open an account in your name and the ability to use it to work you seriously into debt, in many cases, prior to your knowing about it.

Prevention of identity theft is often as easy as the purchase of a locking mailbox. A lock on your mailbox can be the difference between your personal information and your identity being stolen or kept safe and secure.

Signing your checks and your credit card with a gel pen is an additional tip for you to prevent identity theft. Permeation of the document by the ink makes rendering the document free of ink as identity thieves do next to impossible. With small and cheap techniques, such as a dollar gel pen and a low-cost locking mailbox, you can protect yourself in a prominent way from identity theft which can cost you time, money and headaches.

We just finished redoing the outside of our home and I couldn’t be happier. We have an older Cape Cod style home that has been in the family for three generations now. It had this old clapboard siding that was rotted to the core basically. It was definitely time to replace it. After doing a lot of research, I settled on getting cement board siding. We got a lifetime guarantee out of the deal and it is nearly impossible to tell the difference between what we have and traditional wood. In fact, it turned out better than I imagined it would. I can see why cement board siding has become so popular.

An Inflatable Mattress Is Now Comfortable

Posted on May 27th, 2010 by admin in Home & Garden | No Comments »

A few months ago, my family and I decided to coordinate a family reunion with all of our relatives on my dad’s side of the family from multiple states. We were very fortunate to have everyone show up, but with that came some unique sleeping arrangements, including the use of an inflatable mattress.

It all started when we realized that we did not have enough beds to accommodate everyone, and while some of our relatives were going to be staying at hotels, others could simply not afford that option and needed to stay with one of our immediate family members.

I spoke to my grandmother about it, and she pointed out that the reunion would only last a few days, and we could use our living rooms for people to sleep if need be. She had a cot that could be used, while my parents had a large couch and my brother had a couch that pulled out to a bed.

I had nothing of the sort, however, and really had no idea what I was going to do. I was at a local department store one afternoon and saw an inflatable mattress for sale, and thought that it would be perfect for my needs. It was a full-size mattress, as well, so I knew that two people could sleep on it if that was necessary.

It seemed like a great idea, but I was a little concerned about how comfortable an inflatable mattress would actually be. The lady on the box seemed be enjoying herself, however, and time was running out, so I went ahead and made the purchase.

A few weeks later, our family members started arriving for the reunion, and everyone was thrilled to see each other. Many of us had not been in touch for years, and it was great to have everyone so close together.

When it came time to call it a night, two of my cousins decided to stay with me, and asked about the sleeping arrangements. I told them about the inflatable mattress, and they were actually thrilled about it and already knew how to air it up.

When it was inflated, I sat on it and noticed how firm it was. It was actually quite comfortable, and my cousins said they had no problem whatsoever sleeping on it the entire time they were there.

The reunion lasted about five days, and everybody was sad for it to end. We plan to have another one in about three years, and I still have the inflatable mattress stored away in one of my closets. Before my two cousins that stayed with me left, they actually told me that they called dibs on the inflatable mattress at the next reunion. I guess buying it was the right decision.
